Toledo police department captain transitions to national role with Concerns of Police Survivors

Toledo, OH – The Toledo Police Department has announced that Captain Hollingsworth will be leaving the department after nearly 25 years of service to take on a new leadership role with Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

Officials said he will serve as Executive Director of the organization, which is dedicated to supporting the families and coworkers of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

According to the department, Hollingsworth’s connection with C.O.P.S. began through his work as a Law Enforcement Liaison for the Ohio Chapter, where he supported families during National Police Week and the Ohio Peace Officer’s Memorial Service. In that role, he worked closely with survivors and officers during memorial events and other difficult circumstances faced by the law enforcement community.

The department noted that his final working day will be May 6, as he begins the transition into his new position. Officials expressed appreciation for his years of service and leadership within the department and said his continued work is expected to support law enforcement families across the country.
