Toledo Fire & Rescue thanks Treu House of Munch for donation to local fire stations

Toledo, OH – The Toledo Fire & Rescue Department thanked Treu House of Munch for a recent donation recognizing firefighters and their service to the community.

According to the department, the company donated Phorm Energy drinks to local fire stations through its Anheuser-Buschportfolio in recognition of National Firefighters Day on May 4.

Ned Mehling and Tom Takats from the sales and marketing team at Treu House of Munch said fire service has deep roots in their families and community. Mehling said his father, Norb Mehling, served as a firefighter from 1958 to 1987, while his uncle, Don Mehling, also spent decades in the fire service after joining in the 1950s.

He added that his cousin, Mike Wolever, previously served as chief of the department, and his brother-in-law, Eric Buczkowski, helped coordinate the recent deliveries to local stations.

Takats also highlighted his family’s connection to the fire service, noting that his uncle, Jerry Takats, is a retired fire chief.

The company said it was honored to give back to departments that have played an important role in their families and the Toledo community.

Treu House of Munch, which has served Toledo and surrounding communities since 1875, celebrated 150 years in business last year. The company distributes several brands, including Constellation Brands, Yuengling, and Maumee Bay Brewing Company.

Officials also highlighted Folds of Honor, an organization supported by Anheuser-Busch that provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.

The donation was described as a small token of appreciation for firefighters and first responders who continue serving their communities each day.
