Toledo, OHIO – A Toledo man wanted on robbery charges out of Vermillion, Ohio, was arrested Friday in Knoxville, Tennessee, authorities said.
Michael E. Cothern, 37, is accused of robbing a Pizza Hut in Vermillion in February. Police said Cothern entered the restaurant armed with a gun and demanded money from the staff. After successfully obtaining $96, he fled the scene, evading capture.
Following a traffic stop in Knoxville on Friday, local authorities discovered Cothern in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Police reported finding a gun on his person at the time of his arrest.
Cothern now faces multiple charges, both in Knoxville and in Vermillion. He is currently being held in jail in Tennessee, where he awaits extradition back to Ohio to face charges related to the robbery.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
