TOLEDO, Ohio – A domestic violence incident in north Toledo resulted in a standoff and the eventual arrest of a suspect Monday afternoon. According to Toledo Police, the situation unfolded around 1:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Homer Avenue, near Doyle Street.
Authorities reported that a juvenile male allegedly assaulted his mother before officers arrived on the scene. Upon their arrival, the suspect threatened police with a firearm and barricaded himself inside the home, triggering a standoff that lasted for several hours.
After hours of negotiation, the suspect peacefully surrendered to law enforcement without further incident. Police did not disclose the suspect’s age or the extent of any injuries sustained during the altercation.
The Toledo Police Department continues to investigate the incident. As of now, further details regarding the charges and condition of the individuals involved have not been released.
