Warrant Issued for Escapee from Northwest Community Corrections Center

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — The Bowling Green Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of 27-year-old Taylor Michalski, who is wanted for allegedly escaping from the Northwest Community Corrections Center (NCCC). Michalski was serving a sentence at the facility when she failed to return from a work release program on February 27.

According to Lt. Adam Skaff of the Bowling Green Police Division, the NCCC contacted the department for assistance after Michalski’s absence was noted. “They had an inmate who had failed to return from a work release program,” Lt. Skaff explained. “So, they asked for our assistance to locate this individual.”

Despite efforts to locate Michalski, police have not been able to track her down. It has now been several days since her escape, and authorities believe she may have quickly left the Bowling Green area. “She does not have ties to Bowling Green. We do not believe that she is still in this area,” Lt. Skaff stated. “We’ve been following up with CCTV and surveillance footage from area stores, and we believe she left shortly after leaving the facility.”

The Bowling Green Police have informed neighboring law enforcement agencies of the escape and are actively working with them to gather information that could help in locating Michalski. “It has been forwarded to our detective division, and they’ve followed up with neighboring agencies to provide them with whatever information we have to help bring her back to where she needs to be,” Lt. Skaff said.

The NCCC, which houses inmates convicted of felony-level offenses, has been the subject of increased attention since the escape. Though Michalski’s actions have raised concerns, police do not believe she poses a significant threat to the public at this time. “We do not believe she is armed and dangerous,” Lt. Skaff clarified. “We think she just didn’t want to be there. Unfortunately for her, the justice system says she needs to be there.”

While Michalski is not considered an immediate danger, the escape remains a priority for law enforcement. In addition to the initial charges related to her sentence, Michalski will face additional charges for escaping the facility.

The Bowling Green Police Department continues to work diligently to apprehend Michalski and return her to custody. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact local authorities.
