TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo woman accused of shooting two men in a violent altercation earlier this month was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury on Thursday.
Valerie Hahn, 44, faces two counts of felonious assault and two counts of attempted offense in connection with the incident.
The shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m. on January 8, 2025, on Westwood Avenue, between Hill Avenue and Hawkins Street, in west Toledo. Police said Hahn shot a 43-year-old man and his 73-year-old father, both of whom are expected to survive their injuries.
According to authorities, Hahn was in a relationship with the 43-year-old man and had been waiting for him to return home that morning. Investigators say Hahn admitted to planning to shoot the man and fired at him multiple times with a revolver, striking him in the head and chest. Police also noted that Hahn had initially searched for a shotgun but ultimately settled on the revolver. When the 73-year-old father attempted to intervene after his son was shot, Hahn turned her weapon on him, shooting him in the head. He was also hospitalized but is expected to recover. Toledo police quickly identified Hahn as the shooter, and she was taken into custody without incident.
Court documents reveal that Hahn cooperated with investigators, providing a statement that aligned with the details of the attack. Hahn’s indictment now advances the case, and she will face trial on charges related to the shooting.
Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
