TOLEDO, Ohio — A 34-year-old man has been indicted on a series of serious charges following a violent robbery, shooting, and carjacking incident in south Toledo. Marcus Page, of Toledo, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on Thursday with one count of felonious assault, three counts of aggravated robbery, one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle, one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, one count of receiving stolen property, and one count of tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred Sunday evening when Page allegedly targeted a boyfriend and girlfriend sitting in their vehicle outside an apartment complex near Cheyenne Boulevard and Glenridge Drive. According to Toledo police, Page approached the couple, pointed a gun at them, and demanded their cell phones. He then ordered them out of the vehicle. As the boyfriend attempted to flee the scene, Page allegedly shot him in the back before fleeing on foot.
After the shooting, Page reportedly made his way to a nearby business on Reynolds Road, where he stole a car at gunpoint. Toledo police were quickly alerted, and a vehicle pursuit ensued, reaching high speeds through busy traffic areas. Page was eventually apprehended after being cornered at a shopping plaza located on the 1500 block of S. Byrne Road.
The shooting victim’s injuries, though serious, were reported as non-life-threatening. Page was taken into custody and later appeared in Toledo Municipal Court for his initial hearing. His bond was set at $400,000.
The indictment brings multiple felony charges against Page, who now faces the prospect of lengthy prison time if convicted. Authorities continue to investigate the events surrounding the violent incident, while the community remains on edge after the brazen crime spree.
