Toledo Man Indicted on Attempted Murder, Assault, and Kidnapping Charges

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping after allegedly trying to shoot a woman during a violent confrontation earlier this month.

Michiel Robinson, 42, is accused of an intense altercation with the victim on January 17 near West Alexis Road. According to court documents, Robinson pushed a pistol into the woman’s chin and pulled the trigger, but the gun failed to discharge. He then reportedly cocked the gun again and fired a shot after knocking the woman to the ground.

Following the altercation, Robinson fled the scene, but police quickly located him nearby. According to authorities, Robinson evaded officers on two separate occasions before he was found hiding in a supply closet in a building about half a mile from the scene of the incident. He was arrested without further incident.

Robinson now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping. Police have not released further details on the victim’s condition, though no significant injuries were reported in initial reports. Robinson is currently awaiting further legal proceedings.

This case is still under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the full scope of the incident.
