Toledo Man Arrested for Allegedly Setting Mother of His Child on Fire

TOLEDO, Ohio — A 33-year-old Toledo man is in custody after authorities say he poured gasoline on the mother of his child and set her on fire in a violent domestic incident.

Delvon Stone faces multiple charges including aggravated arson, felonious assault, and domestic violence stemming from the incident, which occurred on April 28. Court records indicate that Stone doused the woman with gasoline before igniting it, resulting in severe burns to her body.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, required surgery as part of her treatment for the injuries sustained.

Stone was booked into the Lucas County jail and, as of Friday, no bond had been set. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.

If convicted, Stone could face significant prison time. In Ohio, aggravated arson is classified as a first-degree felony, while felonious assault is a second-degree felony.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
