Toledo, Ohio – A Toledo man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase through the city. According to the Toledo Police Department (TPD), officers attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop on Robert McClain, 38, but he fled the scene, accelerating away from the officers.
The pursuit continued until McClain lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked car in an alley near the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Smead Avenue. Despite the crash, McClain reportedly attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers at the scene.
Court documents indicate that McClain now faces a third-degree felony charge for fleeing and eluding law enforcement. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
Authorities have not released further details about the incident, but the arrest serves as a reminder of the risks involved in high-speed chases, both for law enforcement and the public.
