TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man is facing serious charges after allegedly threatening a young girl with a knife after she refused to engage in a sexual act with him.
Eric Osborne, 43, was arrested early Sunday morning at around 3 a.m. following a disturbing encounter with the victim.
According to Toledo police, Osborne reportedly restrained the girl’s liberty by brandishing a knife toward her after she rejected his advances. The incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning when Osborne allegedly became violent after the girl declined to engage in sexual activity.
Investigators have described the interaction as an act of abduction with sexual motivation, leading to a third-degree felony charge. Osborne is a registered sex offender, having been convicted in 2000 for attempted corruption of a minor.
His previous conviction is now casting a dark shadow over the current allegations, as authorities say he had a history of inappropriate behavior toward minors. Osborne is set to be arraigned Monday morning, with police continuing to investigate the details surrounding the incident. The victim, whose identity has not been released, is receiving support following the traumatic event.
This case highlights concerns surrounding individuals with prior convictions and the potential risks they pose to the community. Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
