TOLEDO, Ohio – A powerful storm system moved through Northwest Ohio late Tuesday night, leaving thousands of residents without power. As of 12:45 a.m., FirstEnergy’s outage map reported that 2,569 customers were impacted by power disruptions. A significant outage affected a large area south of Oak Harbor and north of Fremont, cutting power to more than 800 people. Additionally, approximately 684 people in the Bowling Green area were also without electricity.
Poweroutage.us, a website that tracks power disruptions across the country, reported even higher numbers. At 12:50 a.m., the site noted that around 3,700 residents in Hancock County were without power, and more than 1,000 customers in Wood County were also affected. Hundreds of outages were reported across many other counties in Northwest Ohio, suggesting the storm had a widespread impact on the region’s electrical grid.
Emergency crews and utility workers are likely to be working through the night to restore power to affected areas. Residents are advised to stay alert to weather updates and follow any instructions from local authorities to stay safe during the storm.
As of now, there are no reports of injuries directly related to the storm, but authorities are urging caution as the system continues to move through the region.
