Mobile Home Destroyed in Washington Township Fire

TOLEDO, Ohio — A mobile home was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out Sunday evening in Washington Township. Multiple agencies, including Washington Township Fire, Toledo Fire and Rescue, and Morin Point Fire, responded to the blaze on Moss Creek Street before 5 p.m.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the trailer fully engulfed in flames. Crews immediately conducted a search of the structure and confirmed that no one was inside at the time of the fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

The Washington Township Fire Chief stated that firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in under two minutes, preventing further spread. “The situation was quickly brought under control,” he said in a statement to 13 Action News.

At this time, fire officials are working to determine the exact cause of the fire. To assist in the investigation, the state fire marshal has been contacted. Authorities have noted that the renters of the mobile home had recently moved in, though it’s unclear if they were present at the time of the incident.

While the investigation is ongoing, the fire has left the trailer a total loss. Local authorities are expected to provide further details as they continue to look into the cause of the blaze.
