TOLEDO, Ohio — An allegedly intoxicated man led Toledo police on a brief pursuit Monday morning before crashing into a utility pole near the intersection of Hawley and Woodland streets.
According to officials on the scene, officers initially made contact with the suspect near Woodland and Detroit Avenue and warned him not to drive off. Despite the warning, the man attempted to flee the area by driving down a nearby alley.
The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle struck a utility pole, causing the crash. Authorities responded promptly and secured the scene.
