FOSTORIA, Ohio – An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting incident that occurred early on February 23 in Fostoria. Michael Bollinger, of Fostoria, was taken into custody after allegedly firing multiple shots into a home on the city’s South Polar Street.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on February 23, Fostoria police responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of South Polar Street. Upon arrival, officers found that the home had been struck by four bullets, prompting an immediate investigation.
On February 24, detectives from the Fostoria Police Department, working alongside the Seneca County Regional Special Response Team (SRT), executed a search warrant at a nearby residence on Crocker Street in an effort to locate the suspects and gather further evidence. The authorities surrounded the property, and after entering the home, they conducted interviews with the occupants. Through these interviews, they were able to identify Bollinger as the alleged shooter.
Bollinger was arrested on Tuesday and charged with discharging a firearm into a habitation. According to the police, Bollinger cooperated with authorities, turning himself in without incident, and confessed to his involvement in the shooting.
Bollinger is currently being held at the Seneca County Jail without bond. He is awaiting his initial court appearance as the investigation into the incident continues.
Fostoria police have not released further details at this time. The case remains under investigation.
