Flat Rock, Ohio – A 46-year-old man from Flat Rock, Ohio, was arrested on February 3 on charges related to alleged sex crimes involving a minor. William Stevens is facing a charge of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a third-degree felony, following an investigation into a reported assault earlier in the day.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of the sexual assault, which allegedly took place at a home on Water Street in Flat Rock. Law enforcement agencies from multiple jurisdictions, including the FBI, quickly mobilized to investigate the claims. Detectives and federal agents worked together to gather critical information and executed search warrants at the suspect’s residence.
During the investigation, authorities confiscated several pieces of evidence, including electronic devices, which are believed to be connected to the alleged assault. Stevens was taken into custody and booked into the Seneca County Jail.
Sheriff Fredrick Stevens commented on the case, expressing his belief that the arrest would make the community safer. “Based on all the facts and circumstances of this entire investigation, I truly believe that Seneca County is safer this evening because this individual is off our streets,” Sheriff Stevens said. He also praised the collaboration between local and federal law enforcement agencies, which he described as essential to the success of the investigation.
As of now, additional charges are being considered, though further details regarding the victim’s identity and age have not been released by authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
