FINDLAY, Ohio — A Columbus man was arrested on January 22 after leading deputies on a high-speed chase that stretched from Hancock County into Wyandot County.

The incident began around 1:30 p.m. when deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Chaz Holley, 31, of Columbus. Holley, who had two active warrants for his arrest, refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.

The chase began on Blanchard Avenue in Findlay, before moving southbound onto State Route 37, continuing south on State Route 15, and eventually onto U.S. Route 23. According to HCSO, Holley drove at speeds reaching up to 115 mph during the 20-minute pursuit, which covered approximately 28 miles.

The chase ended when Holley came to a complete stop about one mile north of State Highway 199 in Wyandot County. Holley exited the vehicle and complied with deputies’ commands before being taken into custody without further incident.

Holley was booked into the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of Failure to Comply and Driving Under Suspension. In addition, he is being held on two outstanding warrants. One warrant is from Franklin County for charges including Failing to Appear for Abduction, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Drugs, Having Weapons Under Disability, Improper Handling of a Firearm, Failure to Comply, and Receiving Stolen Property. The second warrant is from the Columbus Police Department for Domestic Violence.
