Adrian Man Arrested for Impersonating Toledo Police Officer and Carrying Firearms at Strip Club

TOLEDO, Ohio – An Adrian man was arrested on April 2 after allegedly impersonating a Toledo police officer while carrying firearms and wearing tactical gear at a local strip club.

According to the Toledo Police Department (TPD), officers received reports of a man wearing a Toledo Police Department patch on his shoulders and carrying a rifle at Bucks Platinum, a strip club located on Telegraph Road. The suspect was also reported to be traveling in a gray Pontiac. Authorities quickly responded and located the vehicle, conducting a traffic stop on the car.

The driver was ordered out of the vehicle and handcuffed, while the passenger, later identified as Kristopher Andrew, was also ordered to exit the car. Upon questioning, officers discovered Andrew was wearing a handgun in a holster on a duty belt and a Toledo Police patch on his left shoulder. He was immediately taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that Andrew was wearing soft body armor under his shirt. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a rifle, a Kevlar helmet, body armor with plates, and several rifle magazines. These findings raised further concerns regarding the man’s intent and potential threat to public safety.

According to police reports, an employee at Bucks Platinum became suspicious of Andrew when he noticed the man’s outfit and the rifle. After briefly leaving the club, Andrew returned and was asked to scan his ID at the front, which led to his identification as Kristopher Andrew. The employee further informed authorities that Andrew had previously been banned from the establishment after allegedly making threats to kill a dancer via Facebook.

One witness described Andrew as acting unusually, prompting them to question whether he was employed at the club. Andrew reportedly responded that he was “retired” and working at the establishment, which only heightened concerns about his behavior. The witness also spoke with the driver of the gray Pontiac, who appeared confused and disoriented. The driver later told police he had driven Andrew on several occasions and was aware of Andrew’s drinking problems, stating that they were heading to Ann Arbor for Andrew to seek treatment for alcoholism.

When officers spoke with Andrew, he was reportedly uncooperative and claimed that it was “ordinary” to carry a rifle and handgun while dressed as a police officer at a strip club. His behavior raised serious questions about his motives and his state of mind at the time.

The arrest of Kristopher Andrew marks a disturbing case of impersonation and potential danger to both the public and law enforcement. His unprovoked behavior, the presence of firearms and tactical equipment, and previous threats made on social media have left authorities concerned about the extent of his intentions that night. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of his actions and whether he may be involved in any other criminal activity.
