Red Cross Leader Joins Disaster Relief Efforts in Kentucky

Toledo, Ohio – Todd James, executive director of the North Central Ohio chapter of The American Red Cross, is set to travel to Louisville, Kentucky, this Thursday to assist with ongoing disaster relief efforts following severe flooding in the region. The Red Cross is currently responding to the widespread damage caused by flooding across multiple states, working tirelessly to provide support for those impacted.

James will serve as the assistant director of external relations, where he will help coordinate relief operations. This marks his third deployment to Eastern Kentucky in the past three years to aid communities recovering from devastating floods.

“These are areas where they didn’t have a whole lot to begin with,” James stated. “We’ve seen deadly results of this flood and homes that were already damaged by past floods. Families who were in the process of rebuilding are now facing destruction once again.”

This deployment marks James’ 43rd disaster relief mission, underscoring his long-standing dedication to aiding communities in their recovery from natural disasters. He has spent much of his career working with The Red Cross, coordinating efforts to rebuild and provide critical services to those affected by emergencies.

James expressed his admiration for the volunteers and organizations that come together in such times of crisis, stating, “It truly is awe-inspiring in some cases to see the number of organizations, and most of them volunteers, who come together in a situation like this.”

James will remain in Kentucky for the next two weeks, assisting in the ongoing relief and recovery efforts. As the Red Cross continues its work on the ground, the support from leaders like James and countless volunteers will be essential in helping these communities rebuild and recover.
